As I thought about my topic when I was first given the fire project, I wanted to address a topic that I was passionate about and one that myself or others around me have experienced. I chose the topic racial profiling because not only do I see it as an issue in my own community, but in surrounding areas, other cities, states, and even countries. Picking this topic made me even more passionate about the situation and want to dig deeper into it to answer all my how’s and why’s. Seeing racial profiling happen around me daily led me to researching the history of it, and it even admired me to stand up, write an essay about it, and put together a possible call to action or plan that can be used to put an end to this harsh act of violence.
Through the research I have found, I honestly and truthfully hope to help bring people to their senses, bring them to the reality of what is being done to themselves, and teach them to not be afraid to stand up to justify what they feel is right and what is wrong based on treatment of themselves and loved ones close by.
