People across the world have very different points of view about several situations, especially racial profiling. Some may believe it is an everyday, not a big deal issue, while other people may feel as if racial profiling is a severe problem that needs to be handled. According to the article “5 Essential Pros and Cons of Racial Profiling” racial profiling can be looked at as a good thing because you can single out all the threatening people and it is a cheaper way of criminal screening. On the other hand, ones who say that racial profiling is a big issue have proceeded to say that one of the biggest problems that come with racial profiling is the “overt racism” associated with the whole thing. Another point of view is that it is just totally an unjust issue that applies guilt to people based on their physical appearance.
Many argue that everything from way back when influenced everything that happens today as far as crime and racial profiling. In the article “The Origins of Racial Profiling” , the author discusses how in the 1950s evidence left at a crime scene was used to determine a person’s personality traits and that is where it began. It continued on to the 1980s, drugs around the world became a big epidemic and from there, the racial profiling against races began.
